Nieuw Amsterdam inside cabin

I am looking at a large inside cabin on the main deck... J1073. It meets DH's request of being near the elevator however I am wondering about noise. It is under a white space on the deck above. Does anyone know what that space is used for and the noise that might come from it?

Thanks

Marcia

It looks to me like general storage space that would not generate much noise. However, that cabin is almost under the Queen's Lounge/CAC which could have loud activities and a lot of foot traffic at times.

I agree, the Queen's Lounge is where the B.B. King Band plays most nights so there might be some noise. I am sure someone that has stayed in one of these cabins will come along and relate their experiences.

Our DD and her DH were in 1073 and we were next door in 1069; neither of us heard any noise. The area directly above the cabins is carpeted, so you're not hearing the clickety clack of heels on the floor over your head. The location is great - close to the elevator, the front office, the future cruise desk, shore excursion office, etc.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I have stayed in several of the cabins along that area on all the other Vista and Signature class ship. Never heard a thing from overhead. Closer to the mid-ship elevators than the cabins further forward is the best area along that passageway.

Thanks for the info. Now my choice will depend of prices. I would prefer a veranda but this inside cabin will be a second choice. It just depends on price difference. I am trying to be frugal so we can have a cabana.

If you're planning on booking a cabana, then go with 1073. With the cabana, you'll spend most of your day topside, and will just need your cabin to sleep, shower and change. Just my 2 cents worth.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
