anewtwinmom Posted September 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2005 We will be taking a 7 night Eastern Carribean Disney cruise with our 2 year old twins this winter. What activities are there for children under three and are they allowed to play in the children's play area? Also, we are planning to reserve Palo one night, but don't want to miss any of the themed dinners. Are there any suggestions for the best night of the cruise to book this? Any other tips and suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted September 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2005 Hello, On a 7 night you will eat in each restaurant twice, plus one, so you should make the reservation on day 4, 5, or 6 because you would have eaten in each one by that point. Remember that pirate night is one evening, not sure which one on the 7 day. It starts at 9:45, but it really starts at dinner with the wait staff dressed as pirates, anda special pirate menu and you will receive a pirate bandana as a gift, so you dont want to miss that night either Everyone, adults and kids are invited to dress as pirates for the entire dinner and deck party. I guess you need to post the question for someone who has been recently and can tell you which night the party is, unless you dont care about that. Flounders nursery has toys and will play with your 2 year olds. Characters will drop by once in awhile too. One of the mickey ears is for kids who are not potty trained yet, but they must wear swim diapers. Studio Sea is a family nightclub for all ages and they can go there too. They have a family dance party and I've seen cute toddlers trying to dance to the music. They are so cute! Mr. Toads race in the atrium is meant for all kids, but mostly the little ones. Parents are allowed to help them pull a rope to race their frog. 16 families can do this each time. They do this more than once so everyone will get a chance to do it. Lots of character meet and greets too. The shows in the evening are geared for all ages, the musicals have lots of characters, and bright colors in them and most younger kids seem to love it. They always have a kids movie playing during the day in the theater too. They are all young kids in their so everyone goes with the idea there will be noise and movement in the seats. No one minds at all. Our little one just loved to walk the entire length of the ship, both inside and out on deck, he would sit inthe port hole windows by the clubs and look at the water for as long as we would let him. Hope this helps a little mom x4,grandma x4
mruhaak Posted September 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2005 You have twice my concerns... I am just taking ONE 2 1/2 year old. This was good advice. I didn't know about the family night club. I think my son would love the dancing!
anewtwinmom Posted September 23, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted September 23, 2005 Thank you for the great suggestions! Do you know if you can allow the little ones to play in the older kids play area? I heard that parents can take their little ones there when the older kids are gone. :)
CruisingCourtney Posted September 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2005 Depending on the staff on duty, you are welcome to let your "little kids" play in the "big kids" area if you are supervising them and the "big kids" aren't around. (I have heard people being allowed and others not, so it seems to depend on who is working at the time.)
