Frustration with RCI website pricing

I just attempted to book a massage for my wife for an upcoming cruise. When I went to Cruise Planner and tried to book, I kept getting different prices.

When I initially clicked on what I wanted, the price was $133. When I tried to set the time, all of a sudden the price went to $169. Then, when I went to check out, the price went to $195!!!!!

 

I called the help desk and got a very helpful rep and, long story short, the initial price you get depends on the time of day you book, although no times available for the date matched the $133 price. The rep said the difference between the $133 and $169 was most likely the 18% automatic gratuity.

 

Nope! The $195 was the final price with the gratuity.

 

I refused to book and expressed my frustration, and that of many on this site, with this type of problem with the RCI site and other similar issues. The rep apologized profusely, so at least that was one positive aspect of this but still frustrating.
