Princess transfers Bayport

Hi all

 

We are taking our first Princess cruise out of Houston/Bayport next March. I am trying to figure out the best way to get between Hobby and the port on departure and return. Right now I am thinking it might be easiest (and perhaps least expensive) for us to just take the Princess transfers. I think they cost $24 pp each way--can anyone confirm this? We will stay at a hotel close to Hobby with a free airport shuttle.

 

There are 2 of us and the cab fares I have seen have quite a range and depend on which cab company you use--$35 to $70, which seems like a wide range. I understand that there can be traffic but my guess is that Sunday morning traffic is less than weekdays, maybe not.

 

I have also read that Galveston Express is good--anyone have any experience with them? edited to say--I checked this out and they only go to galveston, not bayport. Was a great deal too <sigh?

 

I am thinking Princess shuttle would be good if we had any fog issues either way--we would be with them already so that could help. Any thoughts on that?

 

Honestly, I can see why Princess is pulling out of this port. Lots of hassles for pax to get there, fog issues, plus the weird Texas liquor laws :)
