B2B on Oasis - How does this work?

A friend and I have been kicking around doing a cruise on the Oasis, and even the possibility of doing B2B cruises on the Eastern/Western Caribbean routes. Has anybody done this that can tell me how this works on the second leg? Do you have to leave the ship and reboard? What other things should we consider?

When booking try to get the same cabin for both cruises which will eliminate your having to move for the second cruise.

 

If you have to move, all things in the closet will be left on hangers and moved by your cabin attendant. All lose items must be packed in your luggage and then that luggage will be moved to your new cabin by your cabin attendant also.

 

You will get a letter in your cabin midway through the first cruise detailing the procedure for turnaround day.

 

Consecutive cruisers usually meet in a designated area on the ship are then led off in a group through Customs & Immigration and then after a zero count has been recorded, they are allowed back on the ship.

Did a B2B on the Allure so I think they would be similar.

 

We had a short meeting midweek on board plus received written information.

 

It was easy and organized. If you keep the same cabin there isn't much to do. If you move you will have to move your bathroom stuff, drawer contents etc. the stewards will move the hanging items in the closet.

 

We had breakfast and met other B2B cruisers (there were over 200) around 10:00 and we were escorted off the ship to clear customs and immigration. We were given an in transit card if we truly wanted to leave the port (could skip lines coming back). Most just went right back on the ship. Received new sea pass card ..... Cruises are treated as two entirely different trips. Also received complimentary lunch at Giovanni's.

 

It was very simple. You could go back to your cabin......steward knew us and had ready. However the hallway was full of staff, furniture, etc. made more sense to just roam the ship and we did enjoy the lunch.

We did a b2b last year on the Oasis & it was my best cruise ever! Gave us plenty of time to see & do it all. Ditto with previous replies. Make sure information on your 2nd sea pass is correct. You can tell your cabin steward you are b2b & ask when will the letter be in the cabin & if it's not there then go to guest services that evening so they can get it straightened out for you. Cruisers call it b2b but TA & cruise line call it consecutive cruiser which is how you can search it on their website to get more information.

My experience has been, that when you call RCI and ask to speak to the Consecutive Cruise Desk to link your cruises, they have no idea what you are talking about. :eek:

 

Since we only do b2bs the info on the RCI website is general as each ship and each port will handle turnaround day differently as to the way consecutive cruisers are handled. This procedure is determined and controlled by the Port Authorities. Some ports require consecutive cruisers to disembark and go through C&I and then there are those that do not.
