It doesn't really matter . When cruising the inside passage the scenery is great on both sides. Most days you are port and the side doesn't matter.

During sea days there isn't much to see anyway.

Thanks for the response. I've done inside passage out of Vancouver twice, but never the outside passage out of Seattle.

After 6 times to AK, I have to say - Fantail.

Fantail might be the answer, but otherwise you want to be on deck so that you can see both sides and move back and forth.
