Navigator 9/2015 - Hurricane forecast

We will be on the NOS next month, Belize, Cozumel and Roatan.

 

Does any one know what the hurricane forecast is next month for the Western Carribean?

I am sailing next month as well. ( not on that ship)

 

There is not much to the forecasting this far out. It's hurricane season. There is already another front behind hurricane danny. I just figured that , it's hurricane season, whatever happens happens.

 

I do regularly watch the weather ( but truthfully it's more to see if I might have any flight disruptions)

 

This week, even though danny fell apart, 3 ships from rccl fleet still had their eastern flipped into western.

 

also remember you have 2 things to think about

1. if the storm is so bad that the ship cancels the port

2. if the aftermath of the storm makes the port unsuitable

 

all we can do is hope for the best. remember a small weather front right now in the ocean could take 10 days to develop and hit the areas in which your cruise could be affected.

Regardless of any official 'forecast', a hurricane can always occur in the month of Sept. We almost always sail in the fall and I keep an eye on NOAA for current conditions and forecasts, hurricane related:

Same as an earthquake next month forecast in California.

This year expectations are low.

There are years there are no hurricanes in Gulf and other years some.

If you are going to travel anywhere in the world expect the unexpected.
