Pre-Ordering In-Cabin Soft Drinks

I called today to order some liquor and soft drinks for use in our cabin. I wanted to order specific soft drinks, but the agent told me there would just be a card in our cabin to specify what we wanted. I really wanted the soft drinks and liquor to be there when we boarded. Has anyone else done this before? I don't want to wait an hour after we board to have a soft drink and have to request it through the cabin steward. Is this typical or was I given incorrect information?

My first phone call is to room service to order a liter of Grey Goose and a pitcher of Orange Juice and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes.

You are being given correct information. Princess has moved towards the cards in the room. Probably because too many people claimed they never got the item ordered; with the card system you have to sign for receiving the items. Some stewards will go ahead and put the item in the room, but they come around to ask you to sign for it that first day.

Getting back to the topic, if I get onboard and neither the vodka nor the soft drinks I pre-ordered are in the cabin, do I contact the cabin steward or room service?

JimC--For pre-paid gifts you should have a card on the dresser that you give to your room steward. If you want more, you call room service and they bring you the exact same stuff, but charge it to your onboard account.
