2ndcruiser-destiny Posted August 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2015 i always like to arrive the day before I sail so I can relax and get the vacation going. This time was no different except I spent the entire day making arrangements for Erika. According to the news she arrives the same day we return. I'm a little nervous but hey what can you do. I decided not to tell my family that I'm traveling with because they will just freak out the entire time. We arrive to FLL 15 minutes ahead of schedule to partly cloudy skies. Then we hear the first announcement that we've arrived early and that there were storms earlier so we had to wait 30-40 mins for an available gate. Well that turned into 90 mins - not a good way to start. We finally get off and go to get an uber to our Miami hotel. Oh but wait Uber is banned in a Broward County  so we ended up with a private car for a flat fee. As we head to Miami the rain starts and really gets going. We arrive at the hotel check in and go for our first vacation meal and drink :p the whole time it's pouring outside and the skies are lighting up. I'm hoping this wouldn't be the weather when we board but just in case I lay out a weather appropriate outfit. Woke up this morning and there's no rain. I can actually see the sun!!! So hopefully this holds up until we sailaway this afternoon. More to come...
