mbw1024 Posted April 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2004 I have a chance to upgrade to a mini suite, GUAR AE, on Coral. It will cost me an add'l $140. I am currently booked in a mid ship, port balcony (C418). If you were me would you make the switch? Pros and cons please! Thanks Mary Beth
cruiserdru Posted April 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Mini-suites have full bathtub with shower, balcony cabins have very small shower only or so many people have said on this board.
AmyinGA Posted April 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2004 I'd pay for the upgrade. We have done that twice and have ended up getting upgraded to an AA or AB--mini at midship.
mii Posted April 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2004 We were in a alcony dabin on the Coral and yes they are very small showers, but we did enjoy the cabin. That said, if I was to do it again go for the mini-suite. In fact I am doing again this October but on the Sapphire. Mini suite, here I come. mii Posted April 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2004 As to the above it should read balcony cabin not alcony dabin. Good grief. Marilyn
cruisingfreak Posted April 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2004 I wouldn't book a AE cabin on the Coral. Those cabins don't have balconies. I would stay with the midship cabin on Caribe. We were in cabin C520 & the balcony was huge. Minette
mbw1024 Posted April 14, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Is it true that AE has no balcony? This will be my first balcony experience so I don't want to put that in jeopardy if going to AE means no balcony. Thanks, all.
jhannah Posted April 14, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2004 It's the AF cabins that don't have balconies. They are at the front of the Caribe and Baja decks. 'Vegas Jim

mbw1024 Posted April 14, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted April 14, 2004 mine didn't come from anywhere, really. I asked my TA what it would cost to move up to a Mini. My BF is on a kick to get to a Mini. So, she told me I can move up for an addl $140 to AE GUAR. Otherwise, an add'l $480 to go to AC and have an assigned cabin. I can't swing $480 more. Unless BF wants to pay
cruisingfreak Posted April 14, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2004 I stand corrected. The AE cabins do have balconys, on the caribe deck. There are only 4 cabins & they are in the bumpout. The AF's don't have balconys. Minette
mbw1024 Posted April 14, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Thanks Minette. How do you know that exactly? Do you have a Princess book or are you seeing it on line some where? LittleBit0522 Posted April 16, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi, mbw1024. Just be careful booking a room on the front of the ship. The ship was rocking and rolling in the front on 4/1 cruise in moderate waves. My husband and I was in a room near the middle. We still felt the ship moving in the room. <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> Carnival Conquest - April 2003 Princess Coral - April 2004 <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=4> <param name="day" value=1> <param name="hour" value=16> </applet> Carnival Conquest - April 2003 Princess Coral - April 2004
