May DH and I really enjoy cruising, but since I am school teacher, I can only take a cruise during the summer. Most cruises ships (except for Carnival) are not in the Caribbean for the sumemr months.

We want to cruise longer than 7 or 8 days and were thinking about back to back. Has anyone taken a B2B? I seem to recall a posting on these boards that Celebrity has special services for passengers who cruise B2B.

Can any one help??

If you do cruise b2b on the same ship and you have the same room it is easy to do the start of the second week. Most cruise lines will ive you a letter on how to handle that day and some will even give you a speical lunch in the Dining Room instead of having to do the buffet thefirst day of the second cruise. If you have a different cabin on the same ship they will help you move cabins.

Uusally, you will go to Front Desk the last full day of your first cruise and get your new card. They will take you as a group through the immigration part and you will be right back on ship.

Have fun.

Sometimes you can check with the desk during the first cruise week at the pursors desk if there are cabins available for the next cruise and can pick up a real bargain if you can stay onboard. We were on HAL's Noordam (old version) a couple of years ago on a 14 day Southern caribbean cruise. Everyone who was on board who was already a mariner (had cruised with HAL before that cruise) got a letter in their cabin with an offer to stay on for the next cruise, a 12 day cruise which was from Tampa to someplace in Europe (repositioning cruise) for $400 a person for an inside cabin and $600 a person for an outside cabin. I think the brochure rate on that cruise at that time for an inside was something like $2400 and an outside was well over $3200 so it was really a bargain. The only problem was we had to both get back to work so couldn't take advantage of it.

Have a great next cruise.

We cruised B2B in January of 2004 to the Southern Caribbean, but we went on two different ships. We couldn't find any 14-day cruises, so we booked two 7-day cruises. Both sailed from, and returned to, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since we live on the Left Coast, we wanted to get the most for our Air Fare and vacation for at least two weeks. The first ship we sailed on was Norwegian Sky, and the second week we cruised on RCCL Adventure of the Seas. By coincidence, they were docked right next to each other in San Juan. When the first week was over, we rolled our luggage down one gangway, walked next door, and rolled it up the next gangway! There were 6 of us and we had a blast! Booked all our own travel online. The second week we had a new ship to explore, new restaurants, new shows, new cabin, etc. We repeated only two ports of call, and then the itineraries were different after that. Going twice to St. Thomas gave us a 2nd chance to book the trip to St. John. We covered 13 islands including shore excursions, and had the time of our lives:D. When you think of B2B, consider cruising on more than one ship!!! Happy Cruising.
