Seward Holiday Inn Express not.....

..... a Holiday Inn anymore? Anyone heard this? I just called their toll free number to try and book for next summer and was told that as of today (Sept 1st), the hotel is no longer in their family of hotels?

 

If anyone has info on this, do you know if they are a different chain now, independent or closing?

Ironically, when I called, they told me their website was harbor360.com (which is not accurate). So they are not well informed either.

Interesting news. We stayed at a this hotel last May, and despite a somewhat noisy air conditioning unit, would definitely stay again. I just looked at the website posted by Coral and found it interesting that they are offering package rates with Major Marine.

We're booked there 9/6-8/15. Holiday Inn (IHG) emailed us that the hotel would no longer belong to their family but would honor our rates. We checked with the hotel and they confirmed the change and our rates.

I have a reservation for next summer made through Holiday Inn Express. After reading this thread I called and was told they are still in the middle of their changeover but they will be honoring existing HIE reservations and in a couple of weeks I can call back to request a letter from them on their new letterhead with the confirmation.
