Any flexibility with shore excursion minimum age once onboard?

We are interested in a shore excursion with a minimum age requirement where one of the people in our party will be 20 days short of the minimum age whilst in a given port. The web site won't let me book it, but might the shore excursion desk once onboard? I'm just curious if the humans working the desk might be more flexible than the computer working the web site. :)

Does anyone have any experiences with this?

Cheers.
HA! It's a "young" age. :)
It might not be very flexible as it might have to do with person/company Carnival has contracted with and their insurance. I'm not sure I would plan on doing an excursion... possibly wait til onboard and see if it's still available and how flexible they are prior to paying?
If it's waterslides or anything to do with water I can almost guarantee there will be no exceptions. Insurance is very specific....

This is not the first time this question has been asked. I cannot think of a single time that anyone was successful with a Carnival Excursions making an exception. And as bobsfamily stated it has to do with insurance liabilities.

Can you even begin to imagine the lawsuit and bad publicity involved with say an underage child slipping out of a zip line? I am not saying you would put your child at risk. I am simply pointing out that if you begin making exceptions where does it stop?

You can likely get a non Carnival excursions to make exceptions especially with the date so close.

It depends on the excursion- for instance I wanted to book the UTV excursion in Aruba for my husband and 16yo where it states minimum age is 25 and it won't let me book through carnival. I went to the excursion's direct website and it does state driver needs to be 25 but passengers can be 12 and older. I emailed the Carnival excursion helpdesk and they were able to hold a space for my son and I was able to book my husband. This one worked out though only because solo riders still need to pay the double occupancy minimum for this excursion so it's basically the same price for 1 or 2 passengers. Not sure what your excursion is though but just wanted to share my positive experience with carnival's excursion support. Good luck
