gophercruiser Posted September 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2015 In early 2015 I asked and received information on the above but only from our American friends. Has any Canadian booked a HAL cruise in 2015 with your Amex Plat and were you able to book with your own travel agent or did you go through Amex Plat Travel to receive the perks? Thanks. xlxo Posted September 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2015 When I compared Amex Travel Agent hotel rates to Expedia.... Expedia offered me the better deal.
FATJACK Posted September 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2015 In the United States, the travel agent has to enroll and pay a fee to American Express to offer the American Express Platinum Advantages.
sail7seas Posted September 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) The TA fee is annual and cover all their AmEx customers. They don't have to pay a fee for each one. It is not very large and most good TA's should be eligible to book Am Ex Plat guests and get the benefits. Rare visagrunt Posted September 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2015 Can't be done in Canada--neither of the travel agents that I have used have been able to offer Amex perks. They are not sufficiently valuable to cause me to move my business over to Amex travel. They get my air business, but the cruise bookings stay with the agents I have a relationship with.
