Civitivecchia to Rome Train Info

Recommended Posts

Hello - My ship will be docked in Civitivecchia in late October. I'm planning to take the train into Rome for my own self guided tour. Does anyone know where I can find scheduling/ticketing information for train service from/to the port? I'm trying to do some advance planning.

Also, I'm planning on seeing sites such as St. Peter's/Vatican Museum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Is it feasible to walk to these places from the train station, or should I plan on taking a taxi or the subway? I'll be with my Dad who is older and doesn't like to walk much.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Welcome to the boards SoCalJ!

As for train info you might try Italy's train web site for timetables and fares.

I don't know about walking from the train station to the Vatican, it seems a bit far to me. I do know you will probably get a lot more responses and a lot of info about Rome and Italy's trains if you repost this on the Ports-of-Call -- Europe board. A lot of knowledgable people over there.
