SoCalJ Posted September 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2005 Hello - My ship will be docked in Civitivecchia in late October. I'm planning to take the train into Rome for my own self guided tour. Does anyone know where I can find scheduling/ticketing information for train service from/to the port? I'm trying to do some advance planning. Also, I'm planning on seeing sites such as St. Peter's/Vatican Museum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Is it feasible to walk to these places from the train station, or should I plan on taking a taxi or the subway? I'll be with my Dad who is older and doesn't like to walk much. Thanks for any advice you can give.
Crescoia Posted September 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Welcome to the boards SoCalJ! As for train info you might try Italy's train web site for timetables and fares. http://www.Trenitalia.com/home/en/index.html I don't know about walking from the train station to the Vatican, it seems a bit far to me. I do know you will probably get a lot more responses and a lot of info about Rome and Italy's trains if you repost this on the Ports-of-Call -- Europe board. A lot of knowledgable people over there. -Ken
