Can someone tell me if there is an extra fee for the thermal beds in the spa area?

Yes there is a fee for the Persian Gardens. They have a daily or weekly fee however if you are in an Aqua Class cabin they are free. They also provide a free day for Elite and above Captains Club members on port days.
