sarahmunster Posted September 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2015 I'm going to be travelling to the Sandy Bay childrens home to drop off supplies then to the west end (probably) for a fun beach time without crowds and tourists and eh... we want authentic experiences. So, have you found there to be great resteraunts and bars on west end instead of west bay? Have you gone to west bay and not just been in a huge crowd of people like miami public beaches and still gotten authentic delicious food? Thank you! Sarah. Rare crewsweeper Posted September 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Blue Bahia, Sunken Fish or Blue Parrot are good spots in Sandy Bay. If you do head down to West End, Creole's, Tita's Pink Sea Horse or La Casita could fit what you're looking for. Further down in West Bay, Celeste's across from Bananrama has the local empandas, call beleadas. And on the beach there's Bite on the Beach and Beachers or Bananrama's Thirsty Turtle. The latter two serve more tourist oriented fare. I'm sure Guest 2000 has many more suggestions if he sees the post. And since he has good recent local knowledge, you won't be steered wrong. Monkeylala Posted September 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2015 OK, I am confused, you say you want authentic local food yet then mention about West Bay and West End, the two most touristy areas of the Island with very few options for authentic and while the places may have good food there is very little authentic with crewsweepers suggestions , Your going to be in Sandy Bay you should try Aminta's, it is next to the car wash in Sandy Bay or you could stop at the corner of the coast road in Flowers Bay and the road to west end for pastellitos, ballaedas, etc.. made fresh and open all day, eldons supermarkets also offer daily lunch specials and are always authentic
