I noticed that our itinerary for one of the days says "Tuamotu Scenic Cruising" What did you see?????

Also, I really want to hear about independent tours that you did and how to contact the tour operator.

Our upcoming cruise isn't until February...but we are really anxious!!

You'll see a lot of atolls, flat ring-shaped islands. There aren't really any independent tours (unless you include hitchhiking)or many ship tours. The Marquesas are small and relatively primitive in respect to tourists-that's why they are so cool! You can book diving ahead of time. There's one dive shop on Nuka Hiva. In French Polynesia, you can book independently. I found tour operators on the internet for Moorea and Tahiti. For Raitea, there is a building when you get off the ship where you can book different trips with local tour operators.
