Nola26 Posted September 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Ouch, so glad this wasn't out experience two weeks ago. Once your room is ready this could be prime time to take a nap or do as I did and nap in one of the comfy couches on the Waterfront. Then you'll be all refreshed to party all night if you want. Rare aubreyc1988 Posted September 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2015 lots of people going to be drinking lol such a bummer though, a whole half day wasted, not even moving :(
Demonyte Posted September 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2015 How is that "whole half day wasted"? O_o Yes, casino will be closed and some taxes collected but that's it - otherwise just like any other evening.
NayRN Posted September 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Worst case scenario.....you pay taxes on all your cocktails from the UBP! I'd just be happy to finally be on the ship. Besides, they may have padded the time as a "just in case" and may leave earlier. I'm sure no one will complain if the ship leaves at 8 instead of midnight! One more week!!:D

Just saying I like to spend time looking at the ocean, definitely not at all a big deal at all, but would be better without the delay. Sand and Seas Posted September 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2015 ....and - on the up side - it will beautiful sailing out of Miami at night! ;) That should be a pretty sight! For now I would recommend a Mango Meltdown or Raspberry Mojito from that great bar on the Waterfront. Hope the rest of your cruise is smooth- Enjoy! tarps14 Posted September 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Still in Miami but it is indeed beautiful. Rain has been all around us this afternoon but none has fallen directly over the ship. Right now we have all of Miami laid out in front of us and lightening way off in the distance. Truly remarkable! Have a belly full of Teppanyaki and a couple of drinks to start the night off right. We leave when we leave. Enjoying the view right now!
Btj301 Posted September 13, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Anyone else find it weird they aren't disclosing what is being worked on? Also, the term 'scheduled maintenance' doesn't seem appropriate to me. If it were scheduled, they should have indicated that this particular cruise leaves at midnight, not 4pm as advertised. Briitini Posted September 13, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted September 13, 2015 We went to Teppanyaki AND Illusionarium hahaha. Gorgeous view, but something is just weird about this. I've even talked to crew (a few hours earlier) that had no idea saying ship leaves at 5 or something along those lines. Briitini Posted September 13, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted September 13, 2015 An answer to everyone would be the right thing to do. Not announcing anything seems sketchy and not very professional. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
barnacle_boy Posted September 13, 2015 #14 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Ask an officer at the Q&A session. Maybe they'll be able to discuss specifics.
coffeebean Posted September 14, 2015 #15 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Briitini..... Just wondering what time the Getaway actually left Miami. Was it ever made clear to the passengers what maintenance was being done?
Briitini Posted September 15, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted September 15, 2015 It was never made clear. I was asleep before we left and I hear that we left right before midnight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
