Spirit Casino

In March my sister and I be taking our Mom (78) on her first cruise. Recently she was in an auto accident, had a heart attack and triple bypass, needless to say it's been a challenging time for all.

We want to keep talking about the trip to keep her spirits up. She loves to play the slot machines and has asked what machines are on this ship. Since I've never cruised with NCL I don't know. Anyone who has recently sailed on Spirit can you recall what types of machines are in the casino.

Thanks

Donna

Are you asking the denomination or the theme of the machines like Wheel of Fortune, Goldfish, etc.? It was a fairly small casino but I thought they had a big variety of machines. For example if you go to a Vegas casino they may have 25 Wheel of Fortune machines in a row the Spirit may only 1 or 2 in that theme.

My favorite was Beerfest and Goldfish

You are a good daughter, just like my two. Boy has your mom been through a lot lately, you all deserve a cruise. My mom in laws first and only cruise was about the age of your mom or maybe a few years older. I think it was the highlight of her life. I am the age of your mom but am a vet cruiser.

tell her, slots wise, almost all she likes can be found on the ship. Lots of penny slots, video poker and any others she may want. I will forewarn you, but you may not want to tell her this: the machines are really tight. One more thing, the ship is beautiful but the cabins are really tiny. Just be prepared. Other than the small cabins I have absolutely no complaints about the ship.

Does anyone know if there are video poker machines at the bar in the casino on the Spirit? DH really liked to sit at the bar and play video poker on the Star. Not sure if the Spirit casino is set up the same way.

Are there any of those newer slots that say "look up" and there is a big dragon and orbs and lots of noise, they had them on the Pearl and the Sun last time I was on them, I was hoping to show them to friends that are sailing with us on the Spirit.

Yes there were 3 that I recall. One that was gold bar, one with dragons and another that was similar but I don't remember the theme. They were super loud even when the volume was set to low.

Thanks, everyone would crowd around when someone would finally hit the bonus and then it would only pay what seemed a tiny amount, or free games that would only rack up a tiny amount, but it was fun to watch!!

HI Nita,

Thanks for the reply. Mom just received her passport so she is ready to go. I hear you on the tight slots, just got off a Royal cruise and hit nothing for 7 days. I've heard the cabins on this ship are small, hopefully we won't be spending too much time there.

Donna:)
