Shipboard Account

When does your credit card get charged to take care of your shipboard account?

I ask because I would rather just pay for everything with my debit card, but I will need my direct deposit first (which will go in on Friday, and us leaving obviously on Sat)?

Ours didn't actually hit our account until a couple days after we got back.

They send through periodic holds on funds throughout the voyage to be sure you have the funds available so I'm not sure if your plan will work.

You could secure your account with a credit card that had sufficient available credit to cover your charges at the beginning of the cruise then go to the Pursers desk on the last night, after you know your debit card can take the hit and change.

Also, be sure to call your bank and tell them what you're going to do or they may decline the funds transfer as a security precaution because that transaction is unusual for your account. I found that one out the hard way.

Happy Cruising
