Stircrzy Posted September 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2005 We had a rough ride on the Ecstasy in March when the propulsion system was acting up, but nothing like THAT!

mafiadon Posted September 26, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Good thing I was not on that ship I would have used up all their barf bags. Some of those pictures looked like the ship was really being slammed around. Linda
Goldryder Posted September 26, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Looks brilliant..to me :) I have to admit to liking rough seas, adds a bit more adventure to a cruise IMO. There is a fair chance of some heavy seas when rounding the Horn on my upcoming cruise...can't wait :)

Ship Addict Posted September 26, 2005 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2005 I am assuming the ship had no passengers on board, but holy cow, can you imagine how much damage was done??? I bet there's not a whole plate left on the whole ship!
cherylandtk Posted September 26, 2005 #13 Share Posted September 26, 2005 My guess would be USCG.LOL, yes you are probably right---most of them ARE crazy to do what they do. And they not only enjoy their jobs, they LOVE them. Thank God for the Coast Guard in a water emergency.
DOHC Posted September 26, 2005 #14 Share Posted September 26, 2005 I'm assuming their was passengers on this ship? That looks like it would be a wild ride i'd be up for it.
Goldryder Posted September 26, 2005 #15 Share Posted September 26, 2005 I would think that it is one of the perks of booking a cruise during the hurricane season. You get a rollercoaster ride thrown in for free :)
big_duck Posted September 26, 2005 #16 Share Posted September 26, 2005 That's my question, too. Who was crazy enough to get out there and take that series? And what were they on???? Sensation maybe? Both ships were in NOLA housing the families of emergency workers, they probably took them with them.
L2J Posted September 26, 2005 #17 Share Posted September 26, 2005 My guess would be USCG. But where did you get them??

Goldryder Posted September 26, 2005 #24 Share Posted September 26, 2005 At a guess, the photos may have been taken from on board Sensation. Both ships are on Katrina relief at Galveston and they would have been moved out of the harbour while Rita was in the area, perhaps???
fin Posted September 26, 2005 #25 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Exactly one year ago today I was on the Riviera Deck of the Ecstasy doing the Panama Canal transit. Several of these fascinating pix show my portholes totally submerged, and I wonder whether you can see fish when this occurs. I was way forward on the starboard side, almost the very first set of portholes.
