Just off the enchantment...

We enjoyed a fine cruise on the Enchantment last year. We had an Oceanview on Deck 3 -beds were fine. Cabin comfortable with small sofa.

 

We also enjoyed the Park Cafe- the salads- as well as the sandwiches and the atmosphere.

Currently on Enchantment in Nassau.

 

Boarding was a breeze. Arrived at PC terminal at 12:30 and on ship by 12:45.

 

We have enjoyed beautiful weather!

 

Wifi a bit slow but not complaining since it was free the first day and next 24 hours with our Diamond coupon.

 

We are in a JS and our adult sons are in the JS next to us.

 

I can confirm they have the delicious Roast Beef sliders on Sat at the Park Cafe by Solarium.

 

Plan on long waits at most bars. Service very slow.

 

Windjammer just okay.

 

Cabin attendant is very attentive and friendly.

 

Hoping we have the same weather tomorrow at Cococay.

 

Overall enjoying a nice long weekend.

Is it pork all the time now - or just sometimes?

 

Happy to say it's just "sometimes". Was just off the Enchantment (did the 21-25 September cruise) and they had pork roast on embarcation day, on Wednesday (Nassau day) they had roast beef on weck. (Can't tell you what they had Tuesday or Thursday.)

 

And yes, Enchantment is a fun little ship for "dipping the toe in to see if we like the idea of cruising". Did the 4-day option (midweek, a little less booze-cruisy, very relaxing) and tips folks gave on the forums were very helpful (yes, did a lot of lurking and taking of notes before going aboard).

 

The good news is that we have found cruises to our liking and will at some point do another one (probably on a larger ship to compare and contrast, depending on what is going to Cozumel on a 5 or 7 day by the time we decide to do so). At some point I should probably write a formal review, but someone else has also reviewed the same cruise :D

We were on the Enchantment for a 3 day 2 weeks ago, had a good time relaxing but is difficult to drop down after the Allure.

I agree with OP regarding the beds, terrible the loungers were more comfortable.

Lines at the Bars were too long, ended up in the Solarium bar during the day where they were shorter. Food was ok, strange mix in Windjammer.

One noticeable point was the lack of focus on Hygiene, multiple bathrooms had run out of soap, on Allure you couldn't avoid the messages and sanitizer everywhere. I am not sure if they were complacent or just don't care on a 3 or 4 day cruise.
