Sapphire to Mountain Top

Hello,

Can someone provide the current rate for a taxi from Sapphire Beach to Mountain Top? Back in 2012 we tried to taxi to Mountain Top and the taxi driver told us they aren't allowed to drive up. But seems I have read you can do this.

Can you get a one way tram (down) ticket? Think I read some cruise lines offer this at a better rate but couldn't find on Carnival's site.

How far of a walk is it from the tram to the ship (Carnival)? 15 minutes?

Thanks in advance.

Mountaintop does not have a tram. Are you referring to Paradise Point where the tram is? If so taxi from Sapphire to Havensight where you are docked is $10, not sure if the driver will charge a little more to deliver you to the top at PP.

Yes you can buy a one-way tram ticket at the top to come down. Your excursion desk sells round trip tram tickets for a few $ less, I don't believe they offer one-way tickets but you can ask.

Yes, 15 min walk to the tram station from the ship.

Blue_water, thanks for responding. Is there both a Mountain Top and Paradise Point? Or am I confusing Mountain Top from another island.

The original MT had more character IMHO than the new verison which replaced it after a fire. Mainly a big souvenir store where they still sell the $12 banana daiquari and there is a nice view of Magens Bay from there.

PP has a cafe and bar and a few other things including the Bird Lady's bird show and is a great spot to relax after the beach and before returning to the ship, especially if docked at Havensight.

After looking at the pictures, I have to agree about Mt. Top. I was looking forward to introducing my DH to the pleasures of a banana daiquiri there, but I'm leaning toward the Phantasea botanical gardens & a bushwacker at PP
