Boomermomma Posted October 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2015 We have stayed at the Radisson numerous times and really love it! The shuttle is handy to take to the port and they'll pick you up and bring you back to your car or the hotel. You can leave your car parked for free all week if you use the park and cruise package. Want to be able to go to couple favorite places like rustys seafood and coconuts on the nights we stay. We generally do a one-way rental so we can more easily do dinner and shopping the night before the cruise. We return the car in the morning to one of several port area agencies, and take their free shuttle to the cruise terminal. We've used Avis many times, but there are at least 5 other agencies who do the same thing.
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2015 Second the one way rental. that'd give you a lot of flexibility especially if you want to go to Rusty's or Coconuts. And there are several places besides the Radisson, all in the same area about the same distance from port. Country Inn and Suites, Renaissance (with the Hertz agency right next door), and Holiday Inn Club Resort (old Ron Jon's) with a Payless Rental agency near by. Don't know if that was an autocorrect issue, but it's the Residence Inn next to Hertz.
TravelingTH Posted October 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Definitely rent a car and try to get a room at the Residence Inn (Cape Canaveral). I don't always agree with those who rent a car on the day of their cruise departure (just to get from MCO to the port), but in your case...its the best option!
