ranchette Posted October 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2015 What restaurants are open when you embark on the ship besides the buffet?
Miller_KC Posted October 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2015 Typically all of the food services on the Lido deck 9 (most people collectively call all of them the buffet) are open along with the Rotisserie on deck 10 aft. The main dining rooms are not usually open for lunch on embarkation day on Carnival ships. The Grill, deli, Pizza Pirate, Mongolian Wok, both Grand Buffets, should all be open. Sometimes the Tandoor Indian food stand is not open the first day.
Rare CTCruisers Posted October 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2015 For embarkation day, only the lido buffet stations are open during the afternoon. The MDR's do not open until that evening.

I only ask because I am planning on buying the drink package and want to get my $$'s worth...:p Don't worry, drinks are available immediately! :D:D We had to wait a bit to purchase Cheers as they said the computers were turning over to our cruise but they wrote drink orders on paper slips. I think once we got Cheers they credited them back. We were on board by 11:30 and it was only the first hour or so before everything was up and running on the computers. renebfl Posted December 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) We have been on the Splendor twice this year. Both times, last week and in May, we enjoyed our first fireball shot when we enter the ship at the lobby bar. I saw on CCL website that you can actually purchase Cheers prior to sailing. I think through Bon Voyage. This was not available in March.
