  1. I have been trying to figure out how to transfer from London to the cruise port in Southampton for a princess cruise in July. I know how to work this website but I can’t find an answer. Could someone please help me. I am also looking to transfer off the princess cruise ship and get to the airport to get a noon time flight. I’ve called Princess and I’ve got the runaround.
  2. I also had to call Royal Caribbean for my anytime dining reservations for our group of seven. They said because I did not book directly with Royal Caribbean for the cruise, they had to book our dining manually. It took many phone calls and lots of time to get it settled.
  3. Does Holland allow door hangings? We are going on Rotterdam tomorrow and don’t know if a magnet will hold our decoration?
  4. WCB is more intimate than the martini bar. I see the martini bar as chaotic at times..
  5. I just did a transatlantic and our upgrade was almost $20. It was worth it for me. We enjoy the World Bar and each drink would cost about $8.00 more. A great saving just for that.
  6. This was my first transatlantic. I was disappointed With the weather. Wish sun was out and not so windy. I loved the experience. Definitely like gaining an hour each night. West to East has it advantages. I was afraid of hurricane season causing problems. Very port intensive first several days. I especially liked when the Captain had his rock concert. He played guitar and sang great songs for an hour. What a treat. If you love cruising, a transatlantic is for you !!!
  7. With the shutdown looming ahead, it will change, not for the better.
  8. The specials that we finally were told about were outstanding
  9. We went first night to MDR, nothing spectacular on menu. We looked at menu each day after that and could not see anything worth having so we checked out buffet and saw good selections. Fourth night, we decided to try again and asked what his recommendation was and he said something that wasn’t on menu. Then he told us there was a special every night. We finished out 15 day cruise asking each night what the special was and then enjoyed the MDR
  10. We just ended our Reflection transatlantic cruise. We didn’t know until day 5, you had to ask what special is offered in the main dining room. (not listed on the menu or told by wait staff). It was never mentioned by our waiter.
  11. That’s if you get told. We stopped going and went to the buffet. Finally gave it another chance and this time I asked about recommendations. Then I was told about rack of lamb. We happily returned to the MDR and asked every night. We certainly missed some great meals during our cruise ,but we did find the buffet enjoyable. We never had enjoyed the buffet in our 40 cruises.
  12. It’s so great to hear positive. Boarding soon for transatlantic Reflection cruise. Leaving for Barcelona Saturday
  13. What great information and suggestions I received. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
  14. Does anyone have any suggestions for wine? I’d like to have a bottle in hotel room but don’t have that much experience with Spanish wine
  15. We are staying there in October. Any restaurant recommendations?
  16. 'Im just starting to plan my future cruise, What ship are you taking?
  17. I finished a recent cruise on the Pride. I was looking over my bill and noticed very few of the extra tips I gave to bar attendents were recorded. Anyone else noticed that?
  18. I went to a real good piano bar a few years back and I thought they would all be as good. It was a place we went every night. I was on Pride last year and was so disappointed. Going on Valor next week. Hope its a good one.
  19. We let her make the reservations. I would think it would be easier for her.
  20. Just got off the Apex, We enjoyed changing dining rooms every night. We found the decor and feel of the particular restaurant was part of the experience. We had set reservations at 7 pm made by our travel agents Even though we had a different waiter every night, they were all out to make us happy.
  21. I just got off the Apex, We tried every day to sit at the martini bar. Only once at 11pm, did I manage to get one seat. Very limited seating to start with We found we got better tasting drinks standing in a line to have those bar tenders make our drinks rather than order from the waiter at our table
  22. We also just got off the Apex yesterday. We had an infinity balcony, ate at Eden(our only specialty restaurant), ate at the other MDR restarants and ate at the buffet every lunch. Truthfully, we didnt enjoy Edens's food as much as we had anticipated. Friends had the steak and I had the lobster along with the crab cake. My friends thought the steak wasnot any better than ones they had in the MDR. My lobster was great, but so was the lobster tail I had on the last formal night. My crab cake was one of the best I have had. We always enjoy the specialty restaurants on our cruises, but the food in the MDRs was so fabulous, I do not see the need to spend the extra money. Service in all places was impecable. We did miss not having the same servers every night, but we really enjoyed switching restaurants with the different menus. The most pleasant surprise, was the quality of food and choices during the lunch buffet. I have never thought in my 35 cruises, i would rate the lunch buffet as a "10", until I went on the Apex. Highlights included a canolli dessert buffet,a carving station with winter squashes carved to your liking, sugar covered rolls on the breakfast buffet that topped even the best donuts I have eaten, and a station the would cook fish as you watch, on the last day. ( The tuna was amazing cooked rare) The only lack luster dining was the dinner buffet that we only experienced once since we ate so much during the lunch. Another note, we will never get the infinity balcony again. It was a glorified picture window with a balcony price.
