to_dee Posted October 16, 2015 #27 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Just as an FYI type thing :)... In regards to the on board credit we purchased some AUD credit for our cruise 2 weeks on Diamond Princess & didnt use it all. At the end of the cruise they wouldnt cash it out for us on board or at the casino we were told our only option is to wait for a cheque to be mailed to us 4-6 weeks post cruise. We were told they would not cash out unused refundable credit for any amount above $25.

Ah ok I didn't really know about that one. We've not actually been in the casino so I didn't even think of that. I should check how that works. Thanks Mic. Rare MicCanberra Posted October 20, 2015 #32 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Good to know thank you again :) No worries, perhaps a bit of both types of OBC is required.
sir-magoo Posted October 20, 2015 #33 Share Posted October 20, 2015 No worries, perhaps a bit of both types of OBC is required. Just my experience from last week. I had regular OBC given to me by Princess, I had also pre-paid Grats and shore tours, from memory I was paying about $1.10 AUD per USD equivalent. The great exchange rate was why I pre-purchased instead of just paying at the end of the cruise. I was able to draw down from that OBC at the Casino. I didn't try the teller, I just went to the Texas Holdem machine, played there and when I was finished cashed out at the Casino office where they gave me cash. Same thing worked for my wife with the pokies.

However, the Casino credit means you do not even have to do that.:D
ckl001 Posted October 20, 2015 #35 Share Posted October 20, 2015 On my Princess cruise earlier this year, I purchaced some OBC for myself. It was in USD but I paid for it in AUS. It was easy to do. The only thing I would suggest to is to print out any receipts and take them with you. When I was onboard I checked my account and the OBC was showing but it was in AUS not USD which it should have been. As I had all my printouts it was easy for them to confirm the amounts and make the changes. Just make sure you check your account once onboard to make sure it is all correct.
