Has anyone been on both the Jade and Breakaway?

Hello,

I'm getting on the Jade in a few months and was wondering if the jade has some kind of boardwalk or anything similar to the one on the breakaway or do we need a balcony to enjoy the view? I can't tell by looking at pictures of the ship (jade).

thanks

I have been on the Jade and the Getaway, so I think I can answer you ;)

The Jade does have open air spaces, most notably the "Great Outdoors" which is an extention of the Garden Café on deck 12 (I hope I remember that correctly) ... it's nothing like Spice H2O, but I really liked it there. Nice to sit for a bit after dinner and such ... or even for dinner if you go the buffet route. Like a big shared aft balcony ...

The Bali Hai bar on deck 13 also gives you a little bit of a view, it was my favourite spot on the Jade ... and you can walk outside on the deck that has guest services and the atrium. It's not comparable to the boardwalk concept of the newer ships, but you can get a drink inside and then enjoy some air in deckchairs out there!

The Jade has a outside deck which runs around the whole ship, although it is enclosed at the front of the ship. It doesn't have the bars etc which the Breakaway has, but I think there are areas where you can sit.

My memory is a little hazy, as it's over a year since I was on the Jade, and I can only picture the promenade deck on the Spirit, which I was on more recently and is nicer than the one on the Jade.

Basically, yes it has a deck, but it's not as good as the Waterfront.

The Jewel class ships, including the Jade, have a fairly traditional promenade deck. They are peaceful and make you feel very connected to the ocean. This is the one on the Jewel.

So it does!! Awesome. Nothing better than enjoying a drink while looking out into the ocean. Love it..
