Booking question -- "Crown & Anchor Rates"

I haven't booked RCCL for awhile and am a little confused over a booking summary that accompanied my courtesy hold.

There are 2 discounts listed: one is the "30% Savings" for the current promotion on Caribbean cruises. The other is a $100 discount called "Crown & Anchor Rates." What is this exactly?

I am a diamond member and booked a balcony, expecting that I could get $125 off (booking less than 6 months out for a 5 night cruise). However, the guy on the phone quoted me the exact same final price if I applied that benefit. It made no sense unless the first $100 thing either IS the balcony discount or is not combineable with a balcony discount that maybe is no longer $125.

Can anyone clarify please?

Thanks,

Jan

I believe the C&A rate is the balcony discount.

Not sure about that, because on an invoice for an upcoming cruise, our balcony discount says "CAS Balc Suite".

Also, the $125 balcony discount would actually be reduced to $87.50 because they apply the balcony discount before they take off the 30%. This helps Royal because the 30% is applied to a smaller number.

Maybe the $100 off is the other C&A discount that used to be coupons that came out quarterly.

Thanks for the input!

I called C&A instead of the main number and got a clearer answer:

The "Crown & Anchor Rates" $100 discount was for a balcony booked less than 6 months out. Always in the past, I needed to call to get that applied.

The discount for a 3 night to 5 night cruise is $100 if booked less than 6 months. The discount for a 3 night to 5 night cruise is $125 if booked greater than 6 months.

How can you tell if you have a balcony discount.

I booked my second cruise with RCI and therefore am a C A member.

Is their a place on reservation that shows this discount, or is it just in the price.

Thanks

Ask whoever booked your cruise to send you Royal's Guest Copy of your booking confirmation. You will see discounts (if any) on this document.

If this is only your 2nd cruise with RCI then you are a gold C&A member and are not entitled to a balcony discount.

C&A balcony discounts are only for Platinum and above. After your first cruise, if you applied for C&A membership, you would be Gold.

As clarea said, your confirmation will show any discounts.

We had booked a cruise while onboard the Navigator which as of right now is 365 days out on Symphony of the Seas. At the time of the booking I was tier Gold. We are leaving on a reposition in 7 days which will put me at Emerald tier. My brother had booked the same cruise at the same time for the Symphony, and while comparing booking invoices they had received a CAS discount. After this 7 day cruise will they adjust the discount for me seeing that I will be Emerald well before the next cruise? Or will the discount ONLY be applied at time of booking even though the sail date is a year out

You can apply the discount anytime, however the cruise will be re-priced to the current price at the time you apply the discount.

The only time I have seen a "Crown & Anchor" rate that did NOT refer to the CAS balcony discount was when the Empress first started taking bookings. That is the 1 and only time that I have ever had a Royal Caribbean price (of any kind) beat a Club Royale Casino rate. The special Crown & Anchor rate for Empress was the better deal. I have never heard of it again and never seen another Crown & Anchor rate that did not refer to the balcony discount. BTW that super duper price on Empress lasted only about 3 days. They quickly jerked it back.
