Mahogany Bay Cabanas

The Cabana is a living room structure with sofa and 2 comfy chairs, air conditioned - nice porch with two lounge chairs, steps down to an out door shower, hammock and a few steps to the beach. There is a waitstaff person stationed between every two cabanas to get drinks and food per your request and at an extra cost to you from a nearby bar/restaurant. We enjoyed our nachos and margaritas delivered right to our lounge chairs.

Get there early and stay as long as you can is my tip.

The server will run a tab for you - check it over before you pay and watch for the already added gratuity.

Don't buy the water bottle cup or the really big specialty cups - your ice drink will be melted or icky before you finish it.

The food is okay but a bit expensive. Maybe consider sharing something just to tide you over and hit the deli or room service when you return to the ship.

The flying chairs are included in the price of your cabana so take them over.

You also get floats which are nice for in the water.

Don't hesitate to talk to security if you see someone trying to settle into your beach chairs while you're not in them.

There are plugs in the cabana along with an air conditioner. If you think you'll need to charge your phone / tablet, etc, bring the charger with you. And keep the cabana door closed while you're not inside of it - makes for a wonderful mid day break when it's super hot outside - to go into the air conditioned, cool cabana.

You'll need to leave a ship key when you go to pick up your cabana key - this is just so they get the cabana key back. The cabana guy will walk you and your floats over to the cabana area and unlock your cabana, turn on the lights and air, and give you a bit of a rundown on what's what in the area.

Public washrooms aren't too far - they are in the area behind the cabanas along with a bar if you choose to get up and get your own food and drink.

We rented a cabana (#5 I believe, Banana) in 2011 and enjoyed it immensely. It was away from the crowd, we used our hammock and the service was great. I got stung bu a jellyfish or hit fire coral and our wait staff ran to get a medic for me. He was great. We liked being away from the crowd.

Just a warning that the water is SUPER shallow!
