? about Verizon gift cards.

I've seen a pattern over the last month or so that the $100 cards seem to get posted on Monday, followed by the $500 on Tuesday. Once I bought on Monday, and then regretted it on Tuesday. The next week, I resisted on Monday, and was glad I did. Will the pattern remain next week? who knows...but it's worth a look. 5 card maximum per day....

Just curious. Why would you sell a product that every one wants but you only want to sell in limited quantities. Kind of the opposite of the American business tradition. Do they just want you to keep coming to their sites and maybe buy some thing else? I did manage to get Carnival gift cards to pay for final payment, the OBC and a deposit for the next cruise. It was a battle but I managed to do it over a long time span.

Oh well, I am headed to Walmart and maybe the doors will be open, perhaps I will find a cashier and hopefully they will take my money. If not, I will just keep trying and trying and trying. Oh well, there is always China!

The reason they are limited is because it is a rewards program and they have limited quantities available. By limiting them they give other people a chance to get the reward they earned from the company they have been loyal to.

I missed the verizon cards twice over the past month and then finally scored last week. I got 3 of the $100 and then right after went back on for 1 more. They were mailed out on sat but I have not received them yet.

My plan is to check some next year since I have some time prior to my cruise. Next month and dec the extra money goes for Christmas. 😊

I bought $3,000 worth for $2,700. That's $300 off the price of my b2b cruise. (Not to mention several $100 ones for on board) That's why I checked daily. If I could get a great deal on something I was going to buy anyway at a store and I had to check daily, I would do the same.

There is NO pattern as it is totally random, I have been keeping track and nothing about these cards are patterned. The last time it was on a Friday in the wee early hours of the AM, other times I have seen them go up at 2PM. Best thing to do is to subscribe to a well trafficked thread about these cards and when you get an email go and check. Good luck as they have been offered up alot more and seem to last a tad bit longer now there is a $500 limit!

I want to buy some to pay my Alaskan cruise off but friends had some on our Pride cruise last and had a hard time using them. They had to use a kiosk and type in the numbers 2 or 3 times before it would take them, what method do you use when paying off your cruise with them?

We always just take them to guest services and let them apply them to the account. They will give you receipts to show they have been applied, and no problems at all. We don't feel comfortable doing it ourselves, incase there is a problem at the kiosk. They always tell you to hold on to the cards until the end of the cruise so we usually just bring them back home with us until we receive our refund check for any leftover money on our account.

Guest services said they would try once to apply them and if didn't work that they would have to do it themselves at the kiosks. They also were told what wasn't used would go back to a gift card, no cash or check refund.

So once they are applied to the account...you can use them for anything on the ship....such as gratuities, excursions, etc?

We've used them for our last couple of cruises. I just ordered $2500 worth for our next one. I ordered them on the 19th and the 20th. We received one order yesterday and the rest are suppose to be here on Tuesday. The ones we got yesterday were through Verizon and the others were through both Verizon and AARP. Just to give those wondering a shipping estimate.

If you have them applied at guest services, double check and make sure you understand your receipts. On our last cruise I had several $100 cards and she was handing me the receipts one at a time as she was adding them. I happened to notice that one wasn't the same as the others, I don't remember what was different but it was subtle. I asked her to check again to make sure they all went through and were posted and that one wasn't. She put it through again and then it posted fine. So just a heads up to double check.

On one cruise we had a little over $100 left over. We could have insured we got the cash, by going to guest services, or through the casino, but I was curious how we would get the refund, so just decided to wait it out. We got a check in the mail about a week after the cruise.

One more thing, you cannot take cash out of the kiosk against your gift card balance. Someone said we could, but when I tried it said no available cash for withdrawal. Which makes sense of course, but I just had to check, LOL
