Best Way to see St. Maartin

Hi!

We will be on the Carnival Sunshine and I am looking for the best way to see the most of the island in one day. Not interested in beach or snorkeling -- saving that for Grand Turk. The only suggestion that I have seen is to hire a cab driver for the day to be our personal driver .. didn't know if that was safe or how expensive.

We did a tour of the island with a driver from the St. Martin taxi association. Was a great tour and was personalized to what we wanted to see.

You might want to check to see what your ship is offering for an excursion for sightseeing which includes both the Dutch and French sides.

Probably less expensive than trying to do it on your own.

I fully agree with Bernards Tours. Best island tour out there. Only problem is that you do go to Orient Beach for a couple of hours. Lots of restaurants/bars there and a nice beach to stroll on. Everything else about the tour is probably what you are looking for. Perhaps he does a " beach free " tour now. Check his website to see.

Just checked...he does have a beach free version if his famous island tour.

Do you have to book with Bernards in advance or can you get with them at the port on the day of arriving?
