Has anyone heard of a Coffee Bean plantation tour in San Juan? We have the cruddy port stay of 7am -2pm. We've done the forts, etc, as we've been to OSJ quite a few times. Looking for something new to do. Someone mentioned this to me, but I can't find any info online.

TIA!

FWIW, all of the plantations are on the south side of the island- roughly starting in the mountains just north of Ponce and going west from there.

In Ponce, there's a plantation that is more of a tourist attraction- Hacienda Buena Vista- it's pretty cool, and more of a look how it used to be done. The coffee they sell isn't that great- it needs to be sealed when bagged. But then again, the last time we were there was years ago.

A number of places do offer tours.

That being said- Ponce is an hour and a half from San Juan. So 3 hours driving round trip. Great drive, though.

Being that Buena Vista is suited to do that, I would bet that Ellis goes there.

BTW- vistiponce dot com has info
