Civitavecchia to Rome

We decided to use one of our days in Civi to train it to Rome. I know there are different stops, what would be the best way to get here and the best stop to get off at. We want to concentrate in the Pantheon/Campo Fiore area and not go as far as the termini. We have been to Rome several times before, but have always stayed there. Thank you

There are no train stations (or metro stations) right in that part of central Rome, so you may as well get off at Roma San Pietro (the stop for the Vatican) and either walk over or hop on a bus. (If you buy a BIRG ticket at Civitavecchia, it includes the train to Rome and back, and the use of buses/metro all day long in Rome.)
