Hi all,

We are 30 something couple traveling on Carnival Sensation (without kids) for our anniversary in a few weeks. Have a few questions

1) Which restaurants on board are without a fee?

2) where should we go to eat when first arriving on ship?

3) Which entertainment is a must see?

4) Freeport-just want a low key inexpensive beach day....options

5) would it be worth it to purchase beverage package? If so, how much is it?

Any other advice? Thank you

1) There are no specialty restaurants on the Sensation

2) The buffet or the outdoor grill

3) Nothing

4) Taino Beach / Junkanoo

5) It depends. How much do you drink? The drink package is a good deal for those who normally drink upwards of 15 drinks / per day / per person.

As for the Cheers program, it also depends upon how many port days are on your trip. The more port days, the less time you'll be on the ship= less time drinking. Since it has to be purchased by everyone of drinking age in the cabin, some find it cost prohibitive and more expensive than just buying by the drink. We don't drink 10+ alcoholic drinks each per day. Not worth it.

We were on the Sensation for our first cruise. It was a great way to get oriented (in fact, thus far, we have only sailed on Fantasy Class ships, but I'm cheap that way).

1) There are no specialty restaurants on the Sensation, so all food is free. Watch out, though, there is a specialty coffee shop and other "desert" shops. Just remember that anytime they ask for your sign and sail card, you are being charged for something.

2) Head to the lido deck for lunch. Depending on how much carry on luggage you have, you might consider getting FTTF so you can go directly to your room first.

3) Hit up the comedy club. We always enjoy that. Since this is your first cruise, be sure to go to the "welcome aboard" show.

4) Can't help you here. Check out the ports of call forums for help.

5) BB and Cheers are available. If you search the forum for those, there is a lot of help out there as far as calculating if it is worth it for you or not.

Other advice? Relax and have fun! You're on vacation :)

As said before Sensation does not have a specialty dining restaurant but she does have the Chef's Table.

On most Fantasy class ships there could be three areas outside near the pool. It looks like one big line but it's burgers on one side, Asian of some sort on the other. In the middle, on her sister ships, has been a rotisserie. Carved chicken and a carved meat, different than the inside hot line. Sometimes it's lamb.

Hi! We're a 30 something couple and got back from the Sensation in August.

1- looks like this has been answered for you

2- the deli towards the back of the buffet is pretty good

3-we enjoyed the comedy shows at the 88 keys production show was really good

4- we did a free beach day (link below...i forget the name right now)

5- we didn't do this, so I can't really speak to it, but I believe I remember people saying it works out to about 15 drinks per day. So if you think you'll drink around that much then it'd be a good deal. I could be wrong- I'm sure someone will correct me if I am.

I wrote a review (with pics) of our trip on the Sensation if you want to read it. http://piecesofme1983.blogspot.com/2015/08/carnival-sensation-review-day-1.html
