CCC's Posted October 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2015 Does anyone know how the Celebrity Solstice docks at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Sydney. It was in Sydney port last Wednesday 21 October and I am curious as to whether it docked bow in or stern in.
QE2_Fan Posted October 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Since the renovations (extension) to the OPT she can now dock bow in! We last sailed on her in March and it was awesome sailing away up at the Sunset Bar, initially overlooking the Bridge then as we turned we had a Birdseye view of the Opera House, Circular Quay and surrounds! kencr Posted October 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2015 That picture is interesting, on Jan 20, 2014 I had starboard side and we faced Sydney Opera for 2 days. Most cruises i have been to the ship turns around and backs in to dock. But I am sure there are exceptions.
UniPac Posted October 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Solstice from Sydney this April, same as on the pictures. Been almost alone in the Aqua Lounge (as it was raining a bit), nice views! Edited October 27, 2015 by UniPac

It used to have to back in but now that wharf is longer after the renovations it can go in forwards :)

Mr. Click Posted November 24, 2015 #13 Share Posted November 24, 2015 We were on the Nov 2 departure from Sydney to Auckland. She was docked bow in that day, starboard side facing The Rocks. It really did not matter since we had plenty of time to move around the ship and enjoy all of the views. Departing we backed out, put the stern towards the Harbor Bridge and sailed away. It was a great sunset and lots of stunning views that evening. Feel free to follow these links to see pictures of our departure and the ship moored. http://geneboyars.photoshelter.com/gallery/Solstice-2015/G0000VQY2tGNKdp0/C00002c497s2IDSQ http://geneboyars.photoshelter.com/gallery/Sydney-2015/G0000JDSOfdSPg2Y/C00002c497s2IDSQ You will be asked for a password, use Solstice
