Oasis of the Seas - October 21-24, 2015 - Fort Lauderdale to Nassau, Bahamas

Sold out sailing. ~5400 guests.

POSITIVES:

Seamless embarkation process was a true logistics and operations management marvel. We were on the ship by 1030! On board activities and dining venues sprung into action at 11:15.

Overall Ship Condition: Immaculate!

Crew and Staff: Upbeat, responsive and cheerful. Even had multiple crew members recognize us from previous sailings on other ships. One even remembered specifics of a conversation from 7 years ago!

Diamond Club: Ian, the Diamond concierge, is excellent and responsive. Wait staff kept drinks flowing throughout the evening. Dress code enforced on formal night. Evening happy hour always lively. However, we noticed many people walking in unchecked and behind Diamond members with keyed access. Were they poachers?

Central Park: Absolutely lovely at night. We enjoyed al fresco cocktails at the small and cozy bar here.

Entertainment: We loved Come Fly Away, Oasis of Dreams and the Ice Show. Cats was very good but understand how some prefer to spend 2.5 hours poolside instead of inside a theater. To each our own.

150 Central: Terrific tasting menu. Wonderful ambience. Professional wait staff. Perfect for romantic special occasions.

Park Cafe: Roast beef sandwiches did not disappoint!

MINOR NEGATIVES:

MDR: One teeny irksome incident: Ordered the 1 1/2 lb full lobster one night. Received two small lobster tails that were of the Fisherman’s Plate variety. When I pointed this out, server apologetically explained they were out of full lobsters. Wasn't charged. Otherwise, the overall MDR experience was very good.

Maintenance: Toilet overflowed on last night which required placing towels on bathroom floor. No response after calls/requests and two hours. Opted to use the public area toilets and the showers/towels in the spa that morning. Stateroom attendant made aware of this prior to disembarkation.

Drunks: Surprised to see many inebriated people day and night. Wondered if this was due to the drink packages that many seemed to take advantage of.

Overall, this was a wonderful cruise. Oasis is indeed one of the most beautiful cruise ships sailing the seven seas. And it's because of Oasis that we'll likely book future cruises on Allure and Harmony. Thanks, Royal Caribbean!

On board at 10:30? I guess they are efficient at getting charter people off quickly? I assume this was after the 4 day AFLAC cruise. Did they serve Duck?

We were surprised too as we usually don't embark until noon or so. Could have to do with the fact that the previous cruise was a charter - and not filled to capacity. In any case, being on the ship this early was a treat.

No duck. :)

I'm wondering if there was a higher % of "drunks" since it was a 3 day cruise. Shorter cruises are always more of a booze cruise.

We wondered the same thing. Our experience with longer cruises, i.e. 7+ nights, is that cruisers are more behaved and refined. The cruise is a vacation cruise - and not a booze cruise.
