Bringing IV Drugs into Argentina

Has anyone had experience bringing IV drugs or injectibles into Argentina? We will bring them as a carry-on in their packages with the prescription label on them. In addition we will bring infusion supplies that include the needles we will need. My question is what kind of scrutiny will we get? Is there anything we should bring/do to prevent problems?

You need to contact the Argentina Embassy to ensure the medicine that you intend to bring is legal there and not on it's banned list. It the RX contains a narcotic and or controlled substance even though it's RX'd it most likely will present an issue.

 

If the RX is legal to bring into Argentina than you need to do the following :

• Carry a letter from your prescriber with your prescription medicines. The letter should include the name of the medicine, how much you are taking or sending, and state that the medicine is for your personal use.
  
  
• All medicines should be kept in their original container displaying your name and dosage requirements, and carried in hand luggage to prevent their loss.
  
  

 

When working I traveled to many countries across 5 continents with an injectable RX and did not have an issue because of prior due diligence having been done.
