Pedetrian Bridge to Checkin?

Leaving on the Triumph in January out of Galveston.

Looking at Google Streetview, there appears to be a pedestrian bridge from a Public Parking lot at Rosenberg Street and Harborside. Since we will be dropped off about two hours before our Check in Window. Can we use this bridge to access the terminal after exploring downtown for a couple of hours.

The Google Streetview shows it as a skeletal framework from Rosenberg, but when viewed from 22nd it appears to be complete and enclosed.

So. . . Anyone local or recent cruisers have any input.

Also anyplace downtown to get sodas to take on board?

Hopefully someone with more up to date information will drop in here as it has been a couple of years since my last cruise out of Galveston, but at that time the pedestrian skywalk bridge had been closed since one of the hurricanes in or about 2008, the parking garage it connects to had also been closed at least to cruise passengers. However you can cross at street level, and there are some shops in the area, although again I can't tell you specifics.
