Brittie Posted September 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2005 I like to swim when the sun isn't shining - sun-sensitive skin  . Is it possible to swim in the various pools at night? Also, are there golf nets and/ or golf simulators  ? Cheers, Brittie.
PandO Boy Posted September 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2005 The pools are usually closed at night on all P&O ships. Oriana doesn't have a golf simulator, but Aurora does.
southseasvoyagers Posted October 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2005 We sailed out of Sydney on Oriana in 1997 and hubby, son & I were certainly swimming about 1 hour after sailing and it was dark. We were the only ones, however we did do it ~ so all things are possible my friend. World cruises with P&O are very much different to the Australian cruises, they don't need to cover the pools at night because the ship is not full of children or yobbo's. More cultured people, most doing the full voyage are 60+ and you will find the decks deserted at night time ~ You would not know there were a couple of thousand people on board. Meals in the dinning room are full on silver service and impecable. ( Not that you have to dress up every night ~ I am speaking of the service ) Food is out of this world ~ perfect in every way and the Conservatory for breakfast or lunch is the place to be ~ delicous food ~ airconditioned comfort ~ with tables looking out at the ocean floor to ceiling windows. A magnificent way to start the day. Not to mention in the floor to ceiling windows in the dinning rooms ~ spectacular views daily. All I can say to sum up is you will have a brilliant time on Oriana. mufi Posted October 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2005 I enjoyed laser trap shooting on Oriana a few years ago. Do they still have this. David.
