woodspines Posted April 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Here is yet another upgrade question: After all the talk about upgrades and price drops, I have dilegently inquired about both. I have a cat. BD on the Diamond 8-14 to Alaska. At this point, all balcony rooms are waitlisted, and reps told me the prices may actually increase! Higher categories have not come down in price, and as I understand it, the ship appears almost full. So, how do they handle upgrades and/or price reductions on an almost full ship? Being the balconies are waitlisted, will they start moving people up, or will they try to sell off the higher categories at the current, or higher price? Hucc Posted April 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2004 if the ship is in such high demand, then you won't see the prices go down; just up little to no change of upgrades when the ship is selling that well *** Upcoming Cruises Voyager of the Seas in August 2004 Diamond Princess in February 2005

JanC Posted April 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I called Princess yesterday about getting an upgrade to a mini suite. I was told that the ship was totally sold out. (Carib.Princ. 5/15) So no upgrades for me. But that is why you book the cabin you want, then hope for an upgrade. If you don't get one, you are at least happy with the cabin you reserved. WooHoo, cruisin' again in May 2004!
