Can you use OBC for tipping?

I do not believe that is correct, unless things have changed recently. Nonrefundable OBC cannot be used for the DSC. However, I have on multiple occasions gone to guest services, obtained a gratuity voucher, filled it out for the employeE I wanted to tip, and had it applied from my OBC. Anyone know if it's changed.? So, tips yes, DSC. No.

I get so confused with this topic. On one cruise I got OBC from the casino for two dinners, but since I had the UDP I didn't need it. I went to Guest Services and told them and they said to use it on the ship, as it was non-refundable (not that I would have thought it was). I used it to pay for part the Butler and Concierge's tips.

If the oBC is from NCL, no it cannot be used toward the service charge.

If from a TA, it usually can.

It depends on the type of OBC the TA gives. My TA usually gives nonrefundable OBC. Unfortunately, the NCL amenity usually doesn't list TA given OBC. You may need to ask your TA which type it is.

Just thinking ahead... Have onboard credit & wondering if we can use that to tip. Thanks

If you are talking about the DSC, non-refundable obc cannot be used.

Refundable obc can be used.

If you are talking about tipping extra, you can get a voucher from guest services to give the person and this will be charged to your account and any obc can be applied.

When we got a voucher for extra tip for our cabin steward we had to include his last name. We didn't know his last name so had to find out.

Not directly, but you can cash it out in the casino (for a 3% fee) and then put that cash back on your account at the pursers desk. Once you do this you can use it for the DSC.

Just wanted to double check. You can cash out any OBC in the casino for the fee, even non refundable? I need to find out if the OBC from my TA is non refundable or not, but we have quite a bit so I want to use it for the DSC, especially since we have the drink package and aren't dining in specially restaurants.
