Travel To Be Free Posted November 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2015 We were there years ago and did a ship's tour, however, we want to go on our own now. Would like to do one of the glass-bottom boat tours. Which one is the best? Not interested in swimming or snorkeling, just seeing Land's End, etc. We have a group of 8. Someone said Roger's had a tour that showed that, along with movie star's homes. Has anyone ever done that type of boat tour? What all do you see? Then after on our ship's tour we ended up high overlooking cabo at a hotel with just a drink. But I don't remember seeing anything of any significance, except the beautiful view from the hotel. Is there anything close that a tour would be worth seeing? If we don't do a tour, is there a restaurant with a great view of the bay and arch? Any help is so much appreciated! bobnsofi Posted November 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2015 suggest committing to boat tour after arrival. Cabo is deep DEEP water ocean port. Many times calm, many times rough... extremely rough seas (mornings & late afternoons are best). For the best views in the Mexican Riviera... head to Casa Isabel in PV (google it). Cabo is weak for epic views (many marina front cafe's with great people watching, and beautiful limited harbor water views). cabo pool views are the best (no food at this view spot... just WOW)
Travel To Be Free Posted November 8, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 8, 2015 That pool view is great!!! May have to go back one day and stay... Any recommendations in Cabo for something that sits a little higher where we may see a decent view other than right on the marina? The view of the bay and arch is so iconic and would be perfect. Thanks for the info on PV. I checked that out and it looks nice! Any recommendations for Mazatlan for a restaurant with a view?
Travel To Be Free Posted November 14, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Still looking for something to do after the boat trip. Is there a pretty area to walk along the waterfront? Are there shops? Is there a tour that is worth booking?
bobnsofi Posted November 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2015 yes... beautiful marina boardwalk stroll, nearly a mile of beautiful waterfront boat harbor marina, right there. and/or you could take a water taxi over to medano beach for a sand stroll the open water bayfront. Plenty of places to waterfront eat, drink, and be merry, just no epic views elevated cafes BELOW: link to tender pier, marina, medano beach is nne ZOOM OUT TO GET THE FULL PICTURE https://www.google.com/maps/place/Main+Dock,+Marina,+Mexico/@22.8804622,-109.9084392,354m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x86af4ae6cb62a525:0xddbae8014cfd1106?hl=en BELOW IS THE SPOT THE PICTURE ABOVE WAS TAKEN https://www.google.com/maps/place/Mercado+de+Artesan%C3%ADas/@22.8762699,-109.9107908,180m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0xa15652127ccabdb9?hl=en
Travel To Be Free Posted November 15, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 15, 2015 The Mariana stroll will probably be good. We found a restaurant Hacienda Cocina which is 5-minutes by taxi or water taxi. It looks beautiful!! Our ship is only in from 7-2 though. So if we do a whale-watching tour, 2 hours, I wonder if there's enough time to fit this in. Any idea how long the Princess process is to tender off? If we're over at 8 and leave on boat tour at 9, back at 11. Then there's not a lot of time before the last tender at 1:30.
bobnsofi Posted November 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2015 The Hacienda is a lovely new resort, a very nice place, stroll around it a bit. Food/drink is a bit pricey for us
CWcruisers Posted November 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Best viewing spot that is really high and has a restaurant and bar is Baja Brewing Company which is at the top of a resort on Medano Beach called Cabo Villas. Many do not know it's there. http://www.cabovillasbeachresort.com/baja-brewing-company.htm

tjmcdona Posted January 27, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Thanks, this is great. Is Medano beach walkable from the pier or do you need to cab it?
SelectSys Posted January 31, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Thanks, this is great. Is Medano beach walkable from the pier or do you need to cab it? Or water taxi from the harbor. You can also set up a return pick up if you desire.

jnwinos Posted February 4, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Like Cwcruisers said, Go to Baja Brewing on top of the Cabo Villas Resort. Overlooks all of Cabo and the Arch as well as your ship. You can have the water taxi drop you off at the Office it is behind it.
