Is there a store within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza where I can buy soda and water before my cruise? Thanks in advance.

There's a liquor store on Harbor between the hotel and the port. There is a CVS Pharmacy a few blocks in the other direction on 8th St. near Gaffey. Not much else close by...

The closest major supermarket is the Vons Pavilions at 1221 Gaffey...which is 4 longer blocks West of the CP to Gaffey, then turn left and go 6 short blocks down Gaffey (and across Gaffey) to the store. What is "walking distance" is subjective.

 

There is a Numero Uno market--a supermarket aimed at the Hispanic population at 500 Pacific--two blocks West on 6th, then a right turn and one block up Pacific--so fairly close to the CP...They should sell whatever you need as well.

 

When shopping at any market in Los Angeles, remember that we now have "bag ordinances"--bring your own bag or be prepared to pay for them...If you are carrying things like cases of soda, you may want to bring something like a lightweight collapsible cart--so that it's easier to haul them the 3-10 blocks back from the market.
