Bring Beer on Caribbean Princess?

Those of you who cruised these first cruises...

did anyone bring your own beer onboard? Was it prohibited, or allowed, checked, or carried on?

Would love to know.......

We did not bring beer on. We brought on Champagne with no problem and were told that you can bring on beer, wine, and champagne but no liquer.
