Tell me about the entertainment on Freedom of Seas

We are fairly new to cruising, with only one short three day cruise with Royal so far. We are not loyal (yet) to any line and have booked with itinerary as the biggest factor. I didn't think the ship itself was too important to us until we recently sailed on Carnival Glory and realized how much we missed the evening entertainment that we had on NCL. I have Freedom booked next for our first western Caribbean itinerary and was hoping someone could tell me about the evening shows and what is offered. This trip will be my DD (20 years old) and myself, so hanging out in the bar or casino every evening is not what I want to do (and about all my DH and I could find to do on Carnival).

On a typical 7-day cruise, there will be two production shows (singers and dancers), an ice skating show, and headliners that change amost every cruise. The headliners will be acts like comedians, singers, tribute acts, jugglers, etc. Freedom also has a long term magic act with Drew Thomas.

We just sailed on Freedom over Thanksgiving on the Western itinerary. We saw the ice show, both production shows (Marque and Once Upon a Time), and Drew Thomas - all were fantastic. We missed the other headliner - a comedian I think. However, there were tons of activities running almost every night across the ship. I do not think you will be bored!

Day 3 - Now You See It - Drew Thomas Illusion- 7.00pm and 9.00pm

Day 4 - Freedom-Ice.com - 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

Love and Marriage - 10.30pm

Day 5 - Production show Once Upon A Time - 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

The Quest Game Show - 10.45pm.

Day 6 - Joel Mason Elton John Tribute - 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

Day 7 - Farewell Variety Show featuring comedian and aerial act - 7.00pm and 9.00pm .

Obviously it may be slightly different for you but gives you a rough idea of the main things for the week.

  • 4 weeks later...

It was very helpful to see the Western FOS schedule. Does anyone have a recent Easter FOS show schedule? We're cruising next month have My Time Dining and we're seeing reviews saying it's a good idea to book your meal times ahead of the cruise. To do that we'd like to know when the shows are offered each day.

Thanks in advance for any help on this!
