Will we be disappointed with the inside of this ship without a promenade ?.... all of you that have cruised Anthem describe any areas like the promenade please ......if any? we were on quantum (not on anthem until next week :D ), but the basic layout is the same on quantum and anthem. there is a promenade, they just call it an esplanade. it feels about the same width as on freedom class, and is maybe a little shorter, but it ends at michael's pub instead of at an elevator bank, so you can continue walking around the pub to get to other venues, like the music hall. in any case, the promenade served the same purpose to me as on freedom and oasis class - it's down the center of the ship, and has the usual suspects (cafe promenade, sorrentos, shopping) and some new venues (la patisserie). unlike other promenades, the level above the main promenade is not cabins, it's a second level of restaurants and other services. so, that is different. and the decor on quantum/anthem is quite different from previous classes. despite that, it still felt like the familiar promenade to me. Rare Turtles06 Posted December 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2015 The recent Anthem TA was our 14th cruise but our first on RCI. We loved the ship, it's stunningly beautiful, but the one area I was not particularly fond of was the Esplanade. Too frenetic. Felt like I was in a shopping mall, especially with stuff being sold right out there in the middle. Not what I cruise for, but hey, whatever you like. :) Anthem is a great ship. Kathie13 Posted December 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2015 Liked the Quantum, but it was a "cold feeling" ship. Too open feeling, not enough "stuff". Never felt cozy or warm. IMHO Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
