Cobbie48 Posted December 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Just looked thru the 2017 Med cruises. A couple are interesting. The only veranda offering is $300 OBC. We are going on a cruise in Feb and wondering if there is an advantage to booking while on board?? I'm not ready to book for 2017 quite yet Thanks in advance
az_tchr Posted December 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2015 You almost always will be given some sort of additional and combinable perk. On a recent TA we received free gratuities. On a South American cruise $300 in OBC. In one case the prices moves steadily up. In the other X kept dropping the price and we adjusted downward until the final payment date. Is it a good deal? Yes, but not great unless you want a specific cabin and reserve early.
mickey89 Posted December 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2015 We booked a 2A cabin for Nov16 when aboard last month. We paid the price for a 2B with a deposit of $250 and was given $250 obc immediately. We were given $75 obc on the future cruise and later receive a further $350 obc gift from our T/A. We can change the cruise anytime before final payment to any cruise in the next 2 years. We can also cancel, obviously we don't get the deposit refunded as we have already had the money back, so it is a no brainer - cost nothing. cinlo Posted December 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2015 The reduced deposit of $100 per person is a nice benefit. We received a one category upgrade, onboard credit, chose the beverage package for our Go Big perk, and got a great cabin. We booked one cruise for Nov. 2016, and the Canada/ New England for 2017 because that one sells out quickly. The $400 deposit for both cruises is less than the $900 you'll have to pay for one cruise, booking online.
