CruiseFever Posted April 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Really close to booking the Diamond for December and air to SNA is way less expensive- anyone know how far from the Long Beach pier in distance and time this airport is? spingal Posted April 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Chris, I used to live in Orange County (now in San Diego). Long Beach is between the two airports so I would definitely grab the lower fare out of SNA. And SNA is a small airport so it is easier to get to gates, etc. In my opinion it is a great airport!! I miss it because now I use the SD airport. Hope this helps! Commodore Suzy Posted April 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Just wanted to chime in.. my FAVE airport is Long Beach for the LA area cruises. The airport code for it is LGB. JetBlue (the MOST awesome) flies there, and a couple others. There might not be any better or cheaper flights for you, but I just wanted it to be in your radar! Have a great one! lephysteria Posted April 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Hi Chris, We got married at the Hilton right across from the SNA airport. The freeway that's right next to that airport is the beautiful and never congested I-405 freeway. Long Beach is only about 23-25 miles up (going Northbound) on that 405 freeway, HOWEVER, it could take you 4 days by camel to get to long beach. Anyhow, just assume it might take anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes to get to the port of long beach! But I have to agree with the above poster, SNA airport is just the right size. It has the major airlines serviced from that airport, but it isn't a monster like LAX. spingal Posted April 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Chris, I didn't even think of Long Beach airport! That or SNA are excellent choices!
